Memorial Day Weekend…

Nice show of all soul/funk, mostly from 45s.
Also, now I am using ENHANCED podcasts! So if you listen to the podcast via itunes or with your iPod, you’ll see the name of the song, and be able to jump between songs with chapter forward/back! Nice!

These podcasts are absolutely amazing. There are quite a few 45s on this list that I’ve never had an opportunity to hear until now, so much gratitude.
Also, thank you for linking Souled On. I’ll gladly return the favor.
Be well.
PJ… the Rhetta Hughes track you played from the Sister Funk 2 comp was out as a 7″ on Tetragrammaton Records T-1505 (7715), b/w “Gimme Some Of Yours – I’ll Give You Some Of Mine”
They had a copy at Dusty Groove a while back… but I scooped it up!
It doesn’t look like it’s too hard to find – but good luck and thanks for playing such incredible music!

yeah, i have the ‘light my fire’ cover she did. I didn’t know the other tracks on the LP were even better until I heard Sister Funk 2!!! I have a feeling the price is going to be higher on that particular 45 for a bit, until the SisterFunk effect wears off, so I’ll prob wait to track it down. Shouldn’t be too tough tho. Maybe I’ll just get the LP! what? an LP?!?!!

I was feeling nostalgic and started googling Georgie Woods–man I need Potato Salad on my ipod–you guys need to go to RHINO or someplace and put that fine music collection on a cd ’cause I’d sure buy it! I just subscribed to your podcast! I’m a happy woman now-thank you for what you do!
